Product Overview

Packed with function, the St. Hedwig desk offers a drop-down keyboard drawer, removable mouse pad, pencil tray and dividers and letter/legal files on the left side front drawer. Seven drawers total. Inspired by the most beautiful examples of American countryside, Hooker Furniture's Hill Country Collection imparts an authentic American character. Hill Country is a collection of bedroom, dining, home office and accent furniture crafted of flat-cut rustic white oak veneer that is cracked before the finish is applied to appear seasoned over time.

Material: White oak and walnut veneers with high quality bonded leather and resin

Finish: Multi: A timeworn saddle brown that is paired with an anthracite black with light dusty-wax hang up to create a two-tone finish that is as authentic as the countryside from with it emanated. The custom-crafted hardware in an aged pewter finish has shaped back plates and is inspired by hand-wrought ironworks from Texas Hill Country. Distressing includes rasping, hand planking, gouging, chopping and worm holes.

Finish Construction:

Hooker Furniture utilizes a multiple-step finish process of up to 16 finish steps. This results in an unsurpassed clarity, depth and color richness and durability to our finishes. Through hand-craftsmanship such as rubbing and padding, our finishes feel as good as they look, with a smoothness that is delightful to the touch.

Frame Construction:

Hooker Furniture uses carefully chosen solid wood and select wood veneers over durable wood products in our furniture construction. Use of veneers enables more decorative looks unattainable with solid wood. Veneers are used over durable wood products such as medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particle board, made of renewable resources. MDF and particle board are used in quality furniture for areas that need to be stable, such as large surfaces. These durable wood products do not expand and contract with heat and cold and do not absorb moisture as much as solid wood, which results in stronger and longer-lasting furniture.

Drawer Construction:

Hooker Furniture offers full height, full depth and full width drawers for maximum storage capacity. All drawers have strong, time-tested English or French dovetail construction, for years of problem-free use. Plywood drawer bottoms are attached to plywood drawer sides for strength and durability. Metal side guides or wood on wood guide systems operate smoothly.

Headquartered in Martinsville, Va. where we maintain a corporate office and several distribution facilities, Hooker Furniture employs around 800 people at our Virginia and North Carolina locations. Our high-fashion custom upholstery by Sam Moore Furniture is manufactured in Bedford, Va. Much of our upscale leather upholstery line is manufactured in Hickory, N.C. by Bradington-Young. Hooker also imports an extensive line of wood bedroom, living room accents, dining room, home office and home entertainment furniture and some leather furniture from factories around the world. These include factories in Asia, Mexico and Central America. The design and engineering of these imported furnishings is all carefully overseen by Hooker or Bradington-Young in compliance with our high quality standards.

Hooker is known as an active, contributing corporate citizen in the Virginia and North Carolina communities in which we work and live. Our company is a leading contributor to charitable organizations such as the United Way, education and the arts, and our employees provide service to these organizations through volunteerism and board memberships.
